So he becomes Loid Forger, a psychiatrist. He takes in an orphan named Anya as his daughter. He marries Yor, a timid clerk at city hall. Neither of them is what they appear to be. Yor takes assassination jobs on the side. Anya can read minds. That makes her the only one in the house who knows every secret.

The comedy comes from a fake family that keeps acting more like a real one. Expect warm humor broken up by bursts of action. Younger teens can read it too.
