We Were There
僕等がいた
Bokura ga Ita
Motoharu Yano is the boy everyone at school seems to orbit. Nanami Takahashi is new to high school and eager for friends. She finds him shallow at first, then falls for him anyway. What she does not see right away is the weight he carries. His girlfriend Nana died in a traffic accident the year before the story starts. At the time she was out with her former boyfriend, and Yano still believes she was unfaithful. Ever since, he has kept people at a distance and pretended none of it matters. The story follows Nanami and Yano from high school into their twenties. It suits readers who want a slow and emotional shojo romance about grief, trust and first love. Expect heavy feelings more than comedy.
