Tokyo is hit by a dragon from the sky, and more soon follow. Dr. Abe's beloved dies in that first attack. Decades later humanity is still at war with the monsters. A body called the New United Nations has formed a unit it calls the Dragonslayers. Its ranks hold a vampire, a witch and the reanimated remains of the ogre Shuten Doji. One newcomer is an android called Shikigami, model DS-08. He wears Abe's face. Another is Momo. She is still in grade school, yet she flies as an ace. The series mixes military action and fantasy creatures with dry humor. It comes from Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi, the duo behind Ultraman. It suits seinen action fans who want big monster fights and an odd, crowded cast of misfits.
