Manga series
Gokurakugai
極楽街
Gokurakugai is a shounen action series by Yuto Sano. It takes its title from the district where it is set. The name suggests paradise. The place is anything but. Crime is common there. Most locals have no idea that man-eating monsters called maga also prey on them. The story centers on a pair who handle the trouble the rest of the town avoids. That usually means a fight. Sano's art is sharp and stylish with memorable character designs. The monsters lean into body horror. It suits readers who like urban fantasy action in a grimy setting and do not mind grisly creature designs.
