Tatsu earned the nickname Immortal Dragon back in his yakuza days. Now he stays home and keeps house while his wife Miku goes out to work. He takes chores as seriously as he once took gang wars. A supermarket sale turns into a showdown. He talks about cooking like he is planning a hit. Neighbors and the police keep assuming he is up to something criminal. Usually he is just making lunch. The art draws everyday errands with the grit of a crime drama. Most of the jokes come from that clash. The Way of the Househusband is a short-chapter gag comedy that is easy to pick up anywhere. It suits readers who like deadpan humor and low stakes. There is almost no real violence.
