OMORI brings Omocat's indie RPG to manga, drawn by Nui Konoito. The game is known for moving between Faraway Town and a strange dream world, and for how frankly it handles anxiety and depression. The manga's setup runs on a clock. Sunny is a shut-in who has not left home since a tragedy four years ago, and his family moves away in three days. Then Kel turns up at the door. They grew up together, and Kel wants one more stretch of fun before the move. That means facing the old gang Sunny has avoided for years. Every meeting brings the past a little closer to the surface. Under the psychological horror sits a story about young friends living with an old tragedy. Fans of the game should read it. So should anyone who likes slow and unsettling coming-of-age stories.
