Paradise Kiss is about a girl learning that she is allowed to want something for herself. Yukari Hayasaka is in her last year at an elite prep school and studies hard because her mother expects it. She has no goal of her own. That changes when four students from an art school decide she must model the dress they are making for the fashion show at their school. Their group is called Paradise Kiss. Yukari wants nothing to do with them at first. Their freedom and their passion win her over anyway. So does their talented leader George, who is charming one minute and cold the next. Their romance is a stormy one. George is bisexual, and the manga deals openly with sex, so it suits older readers. Fans of Ai Yazawa's Neighborhood Story will spot a few family ties.
