Shy

シャイ

Japan's official superhero can barely speak in public. Teru Momijiyama is fourteen and so timid that her hero name is Shy. In this world each nation is guarded by a hero of its own, and they gather on a station in orbit. Their powers flow from a pair of bracelets that run on what the series calls heart power, so her strength rises and falls with her conviction. One big public appearance goes badly. A theme park rescue leaves a girl named Iko badly hurt, and the public turns on Teru. The opening arc is about her climbing out of that low with help from Spirit, the Russian hero and her closest friend. Later a villain group called Amarariruku starts twisting people's hearts. It is a superhero story about anxiety and empathy as much as fights.
