Sakurako is a shy university freshman in Machida in Tokyo. Her new companion is an alien who looks like a cat and wears a red tie. Mumu's people were once technologically advanced. Then a civil war wiped out the planet's scientists, and the only survivors were its fools. Mumu has come to Earth hoping to win that lost knowledge back, and he is sure the key lies in household appliances. Every gadget in an ordinary home looks like a treasure to him. Sakurako becomes his accidental accomplice while she tries to settle into campus life. Other aliens of his kind turn up too, and not all of them think highly of humans. This is a surreal science fiction comedy. It suits anyone who likes cats, odd-couple friendships and low-stakes humor.
