The Voynich Hotel
ヴォイニッチホテル
Voynich Hotel
Taizou has walked away from life in a yakuza gang and needs somewhere to disappear. He picks the Voynich Hotel, on a South Pacific island still dotted with land mines from an old war. The hotel draws drug dealers and contract killers. The two maids are far more dangerous than they look. Witches, demons and ghosts are part of island life too. Taizou finds himself bonding with the hotel staff, especially the maids. It unfolds in episodes that swing between creepy, absurd and oddly sweet. The humor is pitch black. Readers who like strange ensemble comedies with a supernatural edge will find plenty to enjoy. The violence and dark jokes make it a better fit for older readers.
