Otaku Elf
江戸前エルフ
Edomae Elf
The Takamimi Shrine in Tokyo has a living goddess. She is Elda, an ageless elf whom Tokugawa Ieyasu called to Earth from another world centuries ago. Elda is beautiful and immortal. She is also a shut-in otaku who would rather play video games, order snacks online and hunt for rare toys than leave the shrine grounds. Koito Koganei, a teenager, has just inherited the post of shrine maiden. That makes her the elf's caretaker. She keeps trying to coax Elda out into the neighborhood, with mixed results. Most stories are small episodes of shrine life, local food and Elda's memories of old Edo. Other elves who serve as deities at shrines elsewhere in Japan visit too. It suits fans of laid-back comedy with a side of history.
