Haru no Arashi to Monster
Ranko Haruno first sees Kaya Amamine in an alley, right after he has sent another boy flying into a wall. She runs. Then her mother remarries and the man she marries has an adopted son. It is Kaya. Her world is small on purpose: home, her mom and Magosuke, her miniature pig. Sharing it with the boy from the alley is the last thing she wants. She moves into the storage shed with Magosuke. Ranko wants her mom to be happy, so she does not give up on the new family. Slowly the two loners start to understand each other and Kaya begins to fall for her. This is a shojo stepsibling romance with heavy themes, including Kaya's violent streak and the abuse in his past. It suits readers who like damaged leads and a romance that takes its time.
