Issak
イサック
Issak is a historical action epic set in Europe in 1620, as the conflicts that became the Thirty Years War spread. Catholic and Protestant armies meet on fields where swords and guns share the work. Mercenaries from everywhere join the fight. One of them is a Japanese warrior who came to this war alone. He carries a matchlock of unusual design and fights for one purpose. Back in Japan a man killed his master. The killer then fled to the other end of the globe. Issak has followed him all the way to Europe to track him down and kill him. Shinji Makari writes the story and Double-S draws it. Expect careful historical detail and sharp art. The story is rated for older teens and the battles are violent. Readers who liked Vinland Saga should feel at home.
