PLUTO
In the near future robots look and act almost like people and have legal rights. Then someone starts destroying the most advanced robots in the world one by one. A human victim turns up with the same eerie signature. Gesicht is a robot detective with Europol. He takes the case. As he follows the trail he has to face hard questions about what robots feel. Pluto retells a classic Astro Boy story by Osamu Tezuka. Naoki Urasawa and Takashi Nagasaki turn it into a slow and tense thriller for adults. It has a lot to say about war, grief and what makes someone human. You do not need to know Astro Boy to follow it. It suits readers of serious science fiction and fans of Urasawa's other mysteries.
