Somali and the Forest Spirit
ソマリと森の神様
Somali to Mori no Kamisama
In Somali's world it is dangerous to be human. Humans have been driven almost to extinction, and many creatures consider them a delicacy. So Somali hides what she is under a hood topped with minotaur horns. She calls the golem who took her in Dad. He is ancient, and the forest where he found her was his to guard. He never shows emotion, so the way he shields her says a lot. He also has only about a year left to live. Before then he means to find other humans to take her in. So the two travel through lands of goblins, spirits and oni. Trouble follows Somali around, and her endless curiosity is usually to blame. Expect a gentle travel story about a parent and child, with real sadness underneath. Fans of iyashikei fantasy should try it.
