This Monster Wants to Eat Me
私を喰べたい、ひとでなし
Watashi wo Tabetai, Hitodenashi
The deal between Hinako and Shiori is a strange one. Shiori is a mermaid, and she has sworn to eat Hinako one day when she tastes her best. Until then Shiori will fend off every other yokai. Hinako takes the offer with something close to relief. A car accident killed her parents and her older brother, and she now lives by herself in a seaside town. She has wished for death ever since, but ending her own life is beyond her. She needs a guard at all because her blood draws hungry yokai to her. The story treats grief and depression with real care, and the bond between the two girls is its center. It is moody supernatural yuri for readers ready for themes of suicidal feelings.
