The Eccentric Doctor of the Moon Flower Kingdom
月華国奇医伝
Gekkakoku Kiiden
Koyou is the eccentric doctor of the title: a young woman who performs surgery in a kingdom where healing has long meant superstition and ritual. Prince Keiun sees her skill firsthand. On a trip to Ran Province his party is ambushed. Shiei, his companion, is left fighting for his life until Koyou operates. Keiun has big plans after that. He brings her to the capital, hoping her medicine can help people across the kingdom. It is not a warm welcome. Meanwhile the assassins who came for the prince have not given up. Shojo fans who like court intrigue with their romance will find plenty here, and the medical scenes give it a hook of its own. The setting is a fictional kingdom modeled on old China.
