As the Gods Will

神さまの言うとおり

Kamisama no Iutoori

Shun Takahata always found his life boring. Then his teacher's head explodes without warning. A Daruma doll starts a game called daruma-san ga koronda, which is Japan's take on red light, green light. Anyone the doll catches moving dies the same way. It is only the first of many children's games. Each is deadlier than the last and nobody knows who is running them. Along the way Shun ends up in an uneasy partnership with Takeru Amaya, a violent young man who is enjoying the slaughter. It is a fast and gory death game story. The violence is graphic, so it is meant for adult readers.
