Manga series
What a Wonderful World!
素晴らしい世界
Subarashii Sekai
Inio Asano calls each story in this collection a track, as if it were an album. It was his first series. The stories are short and loosely linked, and people from one often turn up in another. The first follows a young woman who quit college and finds her days dull. The cast is mostly young people unsure what to do with their lives. In one a man hides from the yakuza inside a bear suit. Others bring in the supernatural, such as a teenager's ghost. The art is precise and the endings usually leave a little hope. It suits readers who liked Solanin or Goodnight Punpun and want Asano's early take on the same worries.
