Solanin
ソラニン
Meiko Inoue left college two years ago for a job at a Tokyo office equipment maker. Every day there wears her down. She shares a small apartment with her boyfriend Taneda. He works part time and still plays in a band with his college friends. One day Meiko quits. She has some savings and no real plan. She starts pushing Taneda to give his music a serious try. Solanin is a quiet and honest story about the years right after school, when freedom can feel a lot like drifting. Inio Asano draws everyday city life in rich detail and lets small moments carry the weight. It suits adult readers who like grounded slice of life, indie rock and characters trying to work out what they want.
