The Okkotsu siblings Tsurugi and Yuka are jujutsu sorcerers in the Japan of 2086. Their new partner comes from another planet. Maru represents the Simurians, aliens who crossed space looking for a new home and who command cursed energy of their own. He has come to Japan as a diplomat. The siblings are assigned to him as a trial of whether his people and humans can coexist. The Culling Game is sixty-eight years in the past, and jujutsu has begun to fuse with technology. Gege Akutami writes this spin-off, a sequel to Jujutsu Kaisen, and Yuji Iwasaki draws it. It reads best after the original. Fans who want a new cast and a science fiction twist on jujutsu should give it a look.
